Tim Tebow sets a date for MLB workout and 20 teams will be there
We were teased with tales of Tim Tebow’s transition to the baseball diamond earlier in August, but now we actually have a date to circle on our calendars.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter at least 20 MLB teams will attend the August 30 showcase, but there are no details on just which ones will be there.
Tebow, a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback at the University of Florida who played two seasons in the NFL, has been training for the past year to get in baseball shape for this workout. He’s been assisted by former MLB catcher Chad Moeller, who feels that Tebow has a legitimate shot at a baseball career. And Moeller might be on to something. From ESPN:
Tebow had a tryout with the Los Angeles Dodgers before this season, sources have told ESPN’s Darren Rovell. A scout was present for the workout, and the team showed interest in Tebow afterward, the sources said.
So the Dodgers were interested in him at least five months ago, and Tebow has been training in the interim. Unless Tebow trips over a bunch of baseballs, hits himself in the head with a bat, and then goes into a one-man Three Stooges routine with the rest of the equipment, you’d have to imagine that a few more teams might be in him after his August 30 workout.

Who knows what will come of this, but it’s hard to view Tebow’s workout as a sideshow with 20-plus MLB teams going to see him. All we can do is wait with breathless anticipation to see what happens after his workout. Or you can ditch the breathless anticipation and just wait.
