Tim Lincecum Looks to Lead Giants to Sweep Over Rockies: Fan’s Preview

The San Francisco Giants are just feasting on the Colorado Rockies on the road with 27 runs scored in their first two games of the series. Capitalizing at Coors Field, the Giants have had plenty of contributions on offense from the likes of Buster Posey, Melky Cabrera, Angel Pagan, and Ryan Theriot against subpar starting pitchers Jonathan Sanchez and Jeff Francis. In the series finale, the Giants will once again face a beatable starter in Tyler Chatwood.

With Christian Friedrich's season-ending stress fracture injury, the Rockies will recall Chatwood from Double-A Tulsa. Considering the Rockies' rotation issues all season, Chatwood, who has yet to make a start for Colorado this season, is 1-3 with a 4.70 ERA in 13 minor league starts. Back in 2011, he did receive regular starts for the Los Angeles Angels, going 6-11 with a 4.75 ERA, but has not pitched too well this season.

This bodes well for Giants starter Tim Lincecum, who is looking for his own redemption at Coors Field, a place he has not been too successful at in his career. In his 11 career starts at Colorado, he is 4-3 with a 4.31 ERA, allowing six home runs and 32 unintentional walks. Given the club's offensive prowess on this road trip, the Giants will seek the sweep in preparation of a big game four-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals.
