Marco Belinelli put up 16 points and added 11 rebounds and 8 assists in a complete effort to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a victory over the Boston Celtics, 104-92. The Spurs had no trouble knocking down shots, finishing 41-82 (50.0%) from the field, including 9-19 (47.4%) from beyond the arc. San Antonio (38-15) picked up the win after falling to the Detroit Pistons on Monday.
Belinelli shot 6-12, including 2-4 from three-point range. Tim Duncan also contributed for San Antonio, finishing with 25 points and 9 rebounds. On 6-7 shooting, including 4-5 from behind the arc, Rajon Rondo put up 16 points for Boston in the loss. Kris Humphries added 15 points and 6 rebounds and Jerryd Bayless finished with 11 points and 9 assists.
Along with their eFG% of 55.5%, the Spurs connected at a rate of 47.4% from 3-point range. On the season, they are 16-2 when they record marks above 55% and 40% in those respective categories. Conversely, the Celtics are 1-6 when allowing their opponents to reach those percentages.
This drops Boston (19-35) to 0-2 against San Antonio on the year.
