Tim Duncan put up his 20th double-double this season, scoring 23 points and registering 17 rebounds, to help the San Antonio Spurs edge the Sacramento Kings, 95-93. This snaps a three-game losing streak for San Antonio (34-13).
Duncan finished 8-13, in what was an efficient performance. Tony Parker contributed 18 points and 10 assists for San Antonio as well. Isaiah Thomas had another strong game for Sacramento in the loss, putting up 26 points on 11-26 shooting, including 2-9 from behind the arc. Jason Thompson added 10 points and 7 rebounds.
The Kings had a myriad of misses, most of which they were unable to corral (combining an eFG% of 44.0% with an OR% of 18.6). When falling below 45% and 20% in those respective categories, they are winless (0-2) this season. The Spurs, conversely, are undefeated (6-0) when holding the opposition below those marks.
Sacramento (15-32) has now dropped their last seven consecutive games.
Coming up next, the Spurs take on the New Orleans Pelicans, who are 20-26 on the year. The Kings meet the Chicago Bulls, currently 23-23 this season. The Spurs won their last two meetings with New Orleans.
