Tigres staked a 1-0 lead in the two-legged tie against the Seattle Sounders FC in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Djimi Traore made his debut for the MLS club, but couldn't help keep Tigres off the board in the 74th minute. Michael Gspurning managed to block a header from Lucas Lobos, but Alan Pulido cleaned up the rebound.
Tigres out-shot the Sounders 18 to three. In the third minute, Leo Gonzalez cleared a shot off the goal line.
Seattle, which won all four group stage matches, hosts the return leg on Tuesday.
