Three minor leaguers banned 50 games

The SportsXchange

Three minor league pitchers were suspended for violating baseball's drug policy Saturday.

Major League Baseball announced that Chicago White Sox left-handed pitcher Feny Aria, Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Geremia Espinosa and free agent righty Elou Jean were banned 50 games each after testing positive for metabolites of Stanozolol.

Aria and Espinoza pitch for teams in the Dominican Summer League. Their suspensions start at the beginning of the season.

Jean's suspension begins when he signs with a major league organization.

This year, 21 players have been suspended under the minor league drug policy.
