That was fast: Ravens re-sign RB Justin Forsett

There were apparently no hard feelings from running back Justin Forsett toward the Baltimore Ravens.

Forsett was cut on Saturday, though reports surfaced shortly after that the team planned to bring him back. Under Forsett’s old contract, he was set to make $3 million in salary. Forsett wasn’t under any obligation to come back; he was free to sign anywhere. But about 48 hours after being released, Forsett was back. He re-signed with the Ravens on Monday afternoon, he said on Twitter.

Absence, even for two days, makes the heart grow fonder, as Ravens linebacker Elvis Dumervil found out:

Even with Forsett back, the Ravens’ backfield is crowded. Terrance West had a good camp. Second-year back Javorius Allen played well last season. And at some point rookie Kenneth Dixon will be healthy and ready to earn some playing time.

Forsett will have a say in it too. He has rushed for 1,907 yards over the last two Ravens seasons, even though he missed six games last year due to a broken arm.

But Forsett is back to be a part of the committee. We’ll see how the carries are distributed.
