HALFTIME: Texas A&M 20, Alabama 14

Top-ranked Alabama scored 14 points in the second quarter to pull within a touchdown of Texas A&M.

No. 15 Texas A&M carried a 20-0 lead over No. 1 Alabama into the second quarter.

A booth replay upheld the Aggies' third touchdown of the game with 41 seconds remaining in the first quarter. Taylor Bertolet missed the extra point.

Alabama had no answer for freshman quarterback Johnny Manziel, the SEC's leading rusher. He picked the Crimson Tide defense apart with 82 rushing yards completed 15 of 16 passes for 118 yards and a 10-yard touchdown pass to Ryan Swope with 7:59 left in the first.

Christine Michael scored the Aggies other touchdowns, both 1-yard plunges.

Down 20-0, the Crimson Tide marched down the field with a 13-play, 75-yard drive dominated by running back Eddie Lacy. Running back T.J. Yeldon finished it off with a 2-yard run and after stopping Manziel just short on a 4th-and-6 carry from the Alabama 37, drove in for a 2-yard Lacy romp that ended the second quarter.

An interception by AJ McCarron on third-and-5 from the Alabama 48 set up Manziel's scoring pass to Swope, who caught seven passes for 36 yards in the first half.

Alabama has allowed 20 points in a game just once in the past two seasons -- Nov. 19, 2011 against Georgia Southern. The last time the Crimson Tide trailed by 20 points was a loss to undefeated Utah in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 2, 2009.
