The Houston Texans announced after their 30-10 victory over Miami on Sunday that they have signed quarterback Matt Schaub to a contract extension.
According to NFL.com, it is a four-year deal with a maximum value of $62 million and $30 million guaranteed.
It suggests the Texans are confident Schaub, 31, can stay healthy and remain a starter ahead of T.J. Yates. Schaub missed six games last season with a foot injury. He had completed 61 percent of his passes with 15 touchdowns and six interceptions before the injury.
Schaub threw for 266 yards and a touchdown on 20-for-31 passing during Sunday's victory.
