Terrence Boyd is likely on the outside looking in at a World Cup spot, but the U.S. national team striker isn't going down without a fight.
Boyd scored a pair of first-half goals in Rapid Vienna's 2-2 draw with Grodig on Sunday, making it 11 tallies in 25 league appearances. The 23-year-old also scored five times in Rapid's Europa League run.
Still scoreless in 13 caps for the USA, Boyd appears to have fallen behind the likes of Aron Johannsson, Eddie Johnson and Chris Wondolowski in the race for reserve forward spots on Jurgen Klinsmann's World Cup squad, though the German-born striker remains in contention for the 30-man preliminary roster.
