Tennessee Titans’ Roster Newcomers for the 2012-13 NFL Season: Local Fan’s Introduction

The Tennessee Titans have 15 roster newcomers as they head into the first week of the 2012-13 NFL season. Heading into Week 1, there's a possibility for a 16th newcomer. The Titans are scouting defensive linemen who could fill in for Jurrell Casey and Sen'Derrick Marks. Both players are injured.

Let's introduce these players who are making their debuts on the Titans' active roster. Players like Troy Kropog and Robert Johnson are excluded from this. They've previously been part of the Titans' active roster.

    Darius Reynaud (RB)

Darius Reynaud is a three-year veteran who has been a wide receiver and return specialist for the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants. He last played in the NFL in 2010.

Throughout the preseason, Reynaud has shown play-making ability as a running back and return specialist. When Marc Mariani fractured his tibia during the preseason, Reynaud was all-but-guaranteed a roster spot. Look for the Titans to use Reynaud as a return specialist and third-down back.

    Kendall Wright (WR)

The Titans drafted Kendall Wright with their first-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Wright played with Robert Griffin III at Baylor University. Wright will join a depth chart of wide receivers that includes Kenny Britt and Nate Washington.

    Taylor Thompson (TE)

The Titans used a fifth-round pick on Taylor Thompson. Thompson had spent four seasons as a defensive end at Southern Methodist University (SMU). The Titans believe that Thompson has the characteristics of a great pass-catching tight end. Thompson joins a talented group of tight ends that include Jared Cook and Craig Stevens.

    Steve Hutchinson (OL)

The Titans replaced offensive guard Jake Scott with Steve Hutchinson, a seven-time Pro Bowler. The Titans are trying to upgrade the interior of an offensive line that struggled with run-blocking. Chris Johnson has already looked better this preseason.

Kamerion Wimbley, Keyunta Dawson, Pannel Egboh, Scott Solomon (DE)

The Titans have completely revamped their defensive line. They've added six new faces, four of which were defensive ends. They also added Leger Douzable as a free agent. However, Douzable was placed on injured reserve (IR).

Kamerion Wimbley and Keyunta Dawson were free-agent acquisitions. Pannel Egboh made the team after he was on the practice squad for all of 2011. The Titans used a seventh-round pick on Scott Solomon. Solomon played college football at Rice University.

    Mike Martin, DaJohn Harris (DT)

The Titans used a third-round pick on Mike Martin. Martin played college football at the University of Michigan. DaJohn Harris was an undrafted free agent out of the University of Southern California (USC). These players join a group of defensive tackles that include Karl Klug, Jurrell Casey and Sen'Derrick Marks.

    Zach Brown, Zac Diles (LB)

The Titans used their second-round pick on Zach Brown. Brown played college football at the University of North Carolina. With Colin McCarthy and Akeem Ayers, the Titans have a combined two years of experience in their linebacker core. That doesn't include Will Witherspoon.

Zac Diles is a familiar foe. Since 2007, Diles has spent most of his career with the Houston Texans. He also played for Indianapolis Colts. Diles is one of seven linebackers to make the roster cuts on August 31.

    Coty Sensabaugh, Al Afalava (DB)

The Titans used a fourth-round pick on Coty Sensabaugh. Sensabaugh played his college football at Clemson University. He's related to Dallas Cowboys safety Gerald Sensabaugh. Coty will compete for playing time with Tommie Campbell and Ryan Mouton.

The Titans signed Al Afalava this past offseason. In terms of depth, Afalava will replace Chris Hope. Afalava may have a short stint with the team. It depends on the health of Markelle Martin, who is on the physically unable to perform list (PUP).

    Beau Brinkley (LS)

The Titans have replaced long snapper Ken Amato with rookie Beau Brinkley. Brinkley played his collegiate football at the University of Missouri.

    Zach Brown (Second Round)

    Mike Martin (Third Round)

    Coty Sensabaugh (Fourth Round)

    Taylor Thompson (Fifth Round)

    DaJohn Harris (Undrafted)

    Beau Brinkley (Undrafted)

Rookies Who Are On The Physically Unable To Perform List (PUP)
