COOKVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Dennis Ogbe scored 13 points to lead four players in double figures as Tennesee Tech turned back Loyola of Chicago 74-69 Tuesday night.
Reserves Ladon Carter and Ty Allen added 12 and 11, respectively, for the Golden Eagles (1-1) and Jeremiah Samarrippas had 10.
Doyle had 17 of his points in the second half to keep Loyola of Chicago in the game. His two free throws at the 6:25 mark produced the last tie, 65-65. Allen followed at 5:45 with a free throw for the Golden Eagles and after a long dry spell Samarrippas made two free throws to push the lead to three.
Ogbe also grabbed nine rebounds as Tennessee Tech had a 39-25 edge on the boards.
