Butch Jones landed the highest-rated recruit in his short tenure in Knoxville, as running back Jalen Hurd verbally committed to the Volunteers on Thursday morning.

The 6-3, 222-pound Class of 2014 product from Beech Senior High School (Hendersonville, TN) announced his decision on Twitter just as the Vols were getting ready for another spring practice session.

Hurd is considered a five- or four-star talent on every major recruiting site, so he is considered one of the best running backs in the country.

The Tennessee native is the fifth player in the Vols' 2014 class and the fourth player to verbally commit in the last week.
