Ted Thompson won't speculate on status of Donald Driver

We’re yet to see how things will play out for Donald Driver on “Dancing with the Stars” and it’s too early to determine exactly how things will go for him with the Green Bay Packers.

Driver’s status has been the source of great speculation, especially with the club parting ways with veteran left tackle Chad Clifton and safety Nick Collins recently. The 37-year-old Driver is the franchise’s all-time leading receiver but he’s no higher than fourth on the depth chart right now.

Will Driver make it to training camp?

I would never speculate on something like that," general manager Ted Thompson said, according to Bob McGinn of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Driver has said publicly that he is willing to accept a pay cut, a move that would certainly have to go through for him to say. Currently, he is due to receive a $1.5 million roster bonus on the first day of training camp. His base salary for 2012 is $2.6 million. It’s hard to imagine the Packers would be inclined to pay him $2 million this season but we’ll see.
