BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- Anthone Taylor scored on 6-yard touchdown run in the fifth overtime to give Buffalo a 26-23 win over Stony Brook on Saturday.

Taylor, who finished with 118 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries (all career highs), gave the Bulls a 10-0 lead with a 5-yard touchdown scamper in the waning minutes of the third quarter.

The Stony Brook offense, which entered the final frame of regulation having converted on just 1 of 7 third downs, started showing signs of life as the game entered the fourth quarter. Quarterback Lyle Negron led the Seawolves on a 12-play, 76-yard drive during which they converted on third-and-4, and later on fourth-and-2, culminating with a 22-yard field goal by Nick Ferrara with 11:07 remaining.

Two series later, the Buffalo (1-2) offense marched 63 yards, on 10 plays, but Patrick Clarke pushed his 34-yard field goal attempt with 4:28 to play; leaving Stony Brook a glimmer of hope, trailing just 10-3.

Malcolm Eugene's touchdown reception with 29 seconds remaining in regulation capped the 10-point comeback to send the game into overtime. His second score sent the game into a third OT.

Buffalo's Alex Neutz, who had a career-high 197 yards receiving against Baylor last week, tied another career-high with 10 receptions, including a 3-yard touchdown in the second overtime.

Stony Brook (1-1) converted on just 4 of 19 third-down conversions as Adam Redden and Okoye Houston each had career-highs with 16 and 14 tackles, respectively, for Buffalo.

Eugene finished with 110 yards receiving and nine catches for the Seawolves.
