New York Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum says that starting quarterback Mark Sanchez will get "80-90 percent" of the reps over a 16-game season.
Tannenbaum made the comments on ESPN's Mike and Mike Show, according to the Newark Star-Ledger.
“In terms of, if that gives us the best matchup on that play, that’s the play we’re going to run,” Tannenbaum said. “But again, Mark’s going to be on the field for the lion’s share. You guys will see. His playing time will be 80-90 percent over the 16 games. He’s clearly our quarterback.”
That still leaves 10 to 20 percent of the snaps to go to Tim Tebow in some capacity, whether it be in a Wildcat package or some other set in the red zone.
