The Tampa Bay defense had no answer for Mike James, but it would prove not enough to avoid a late loss for the Buccaneers against the Seahawks, 27-24, in Seattle.
Mike Glennon found the end zone two times on 17 of 23 passing for 168 yards and no interceptions. Russell Wilson finished 19 for 26 with 217 yards passing, three touchdowns (2 pass, 1 rush) and two picks for the Seahawks.
James was a standout player for the Buccaneers, rushing for 158 yards on 28 attempts. He also tossed for a touchdown. Tim Wright was a leading receiver, hauling in four balls for 58 yards with a score.
The Tampa Bay defense gave up 198 yards rushing and 217 passing.
Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was impressive, churning out 125 yards rushing and 16 receiving. Wide receiver Doug Baldwin was also solid with 75 receiving yards and one touchdown.
The Buccaneers are at home to take on the Dolphins (4-4) next week while the Seahawks travel to Atlanta to meet the Falcons (2-6).
