Taiwan Jones: Has Some Work to Do

Update: Head coach Dennis Allen said Wednesday that Jones has to prove some things in practice before seeing extended game action, the Oakland Tribune reports.

Recommendation: While Jones saw first-team practice reps last week fellow running backs Darren McFadden and Mike Goodson sidelined, he received just two touches in Sunday's game, a surprisingly low number given that the other two players who saw action in the backfield were a fullback (Marcel Reece) and a player (Jeremy Stewart) brought up from the practice squad just days before. Allen said that Jones needs to "stay healthy, know what to do on every single play and protect the football" before seeing more work, so there are several things he needs to improve upon. However, Allen did note that Jones showed improvement last week, so he is moving in the right direction. It remains to be seen if Jones will get more work this week, but if he continues to make strides, and both McFadden and Goodson sit again, he should at least be more involved in the gameplan than he was in Week 10.
