Syracuse wide receiver Taj Smith has opted to enter the NFL draft rather than return for a fifth year in college.
A junior-college transfer, Smith played just four games as a junior with the Orange but returned at full strength this year to catch 44 passes for 822 yards and five touchdowns.
"I felt like this was a good chance for me to continue my playing career at the NFL level," said Smith, who averaged 18.7 yards per catch this season. "This was the best decision for me and my family, so now I look forward to training and impressing the scouts."
Smith is 6-foot-1, 187 pounds and has been timed at 4.42 in the 40-yard dash.
