Sutton, Ingram lead NC Central over SC State 71-57

ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) Jeremy Ingram scored 17 points in the first half and Dominique Sutton 17 in the second to lead North Carolina Central over South Carolina State 71-57 on Monday night.

The Eagles (15-14, 9-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) trailed 18-12 with 8:36 to go in the first half and scored 18 straight. Jeremy Ingram, who had nine points during the spurt, hit a 3 to put the Eagles up 30-20 with 3:15 left in the half and they weren't threatened the rest of the way.

Ingram finished with 19 points.

North Carolina Central shot 56.3 percent in the second half (9 of 16) led by 4-of-5 shooting from Sutton, who finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds.

North Carolina Central's Nick Chasten finished with eight points, giving him 1,000 for his career.

The Bulldogs (5-24, 0-15) were led by Khalif Toombs' 17 points and Omar Sanders' 12 points and 10 rebounds.
