Suns tell O'Neal to skip road trip after argument with GM

The Phoenix Suns have told Jermaine O'Neal to stay home for Wednesday's game at Sacramento after he and general manager Lance Blanks reportedly got into a heated argument within earshot of other players on Monday.

Yahoo! Sports reported the incident and the Arizona Republic confirmed it. The Yahoo! Report says the incident happened after Lindsey Hunter's first practice as interim coach. O'Neal did not practice with the team on Tuesday.

O'Neal has averaged 6.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game as a reserve for the Suns this season. During his best years, with the Indiana Pacers, O'Neal was an All-Star who finished third in the league MVP balloting in 2004.

The Suns, 13-28, have the worst record in the Western Conference.
