Tina Charles scored 30 points, leading the Connecticut Sun to a 73-61 win over the Indiana Fever on Wednesday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis in a rematch of last year's WNBA Eastern Conference finals.

The Sun (2-3) snapped a three-game losing streak, while the defending league champion Fever (1-4) lost their fourth game in a row.

Charles hit 13 of 17 shots from the floor. She added 10 rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots.

Kara Lawson had 12 points for Connecticut, and Kalana Greene contributed 10 points and nine rebounds.

Shavonte Zellous paced Indiana with 14 points. Tamika Catchings made just three of 15 shots en route to 11 points. Erlana Larkins added 10 points.

The Sun led after each of the first three quarters. Indiana scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter, cutting Connecticut's advantage to 60-59. A Charles layup with just under six minutes to play boosted the lead back to three points.

The Sun's Allison Hightower added a basket with 4:03 to play, and Charles' 18-foot jumper with 2:58 left gave Connecticut a 66-59 edge. The Sun pulled away in the final minutes.

Charles entered the night averaging 19.5 points, and her previous season high was 22, set on June 1 at Minnesota.

The Sun concludes a two-game road trip with a Friday night game in New York against the Liberty. The Fever travels to Washington for a Sunday game against the Mystics.
