Rodgers on Suarez: 'Everything has been resolved'

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez is in attendance for the club's opening Premier League fixture against Stoke.

The Uruguayan has agitated for a move to a Champions League club for the duration of the summer, but having been pictured smiling as he walked into Anfield this afternoon, the chances of him leaving the club appear to have reduced.

Arsenal had a bid in excess of 40 million pounds rejected for the controversial frontman earlier this summer but a further move from the Gunners has not been forthcoming, nor has reported interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Suarez was ordered by manager Brendan Rodgers to apologize to his teammates for his behavior after his public outburst to two national newspapers about his desire to leave or he would remain training with the reserve team.

A breakthrough appeared to be struck yesterday when Suarez was pictured training with the first team, while Rodgers revealed the striker was in a better frame of mind.

"Luis Suarez is back in the group; he's smiling and happy," Rodgers told BT Sport.

And after making an appearance in front of the Kop this afternoon, it seems the 26-year-old may have to settle for staying on Merseyside for the time being at least, with Rodgers and managing director Ian Ayre both vehement in their efforts to keep their prized asset.
