Walter Samuel was the only scorer in the Derby della Madonnina and while Rossoneri coach Massimiliano Allegri remains under pressure, Moratti's opinion of his own manager is the polar opposite having watched his young coach steer the Nerazzurri to fourth in the table.
"This is an important victory for us such is the morale, commitment and talent of our coach. [Sunday] confirmed the quality of the whole group," Moratti said to reporters. "Him [Stramaccioni] and Mourinho have already proven themselves to have the quality, the ability and humility. It's important, we found a new manager that gave us a boost, now we have to continue like this."
Moratti was keen to distance himself from any controversy that occurred in the derby but added that he saw Juventus and Napoli as the benchmark.
"Usually these things when they happen I'm always on the other side, and do not say anything," Moratti said. "If we are on par with Juventus and Napoli? We're talking about two teams that have changed little and kept their strength. We want to get to that level."
