Geoff Cameron's whirlwind week continues.
The new Stoke City signing was finally cleared for international duty and thus, a work permit in the Premier League only a few days ago. Now, word has filtered down that the former Dynamo player will be selected by Jurgen Klinsmann to face Mexico this August 15 at the Estadio Azteca.
"It's been frustrating for him not being able to play in the preseason games. And he's got to go back there next week to play for the USA in a game in Mexico," said Stoke's assistant manager David Kemp.
Leaks for international rosters such as this one have become increasingly common. Valencia published a story detailing Andres Guardado's selection to the Mexican roster for the same match hours before Tri manager Chepo de la Torre announced his list for European-based players.
Now, as Kemp has noted, Cameron will have to wait a little longer to get in with his new club teammates in England due to the call up.
"It means more unnecessary traveling and we're still not sure how quickly we can get him playing," Kemp noted.
