Stephen Colbert’s Twin Cousin Bails Him Out of Real Legal Trouble

Last week on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Stephen brought back his old character from The Colbert Report to discuss the Republican National Convention. Unfortunately, Colbert announced Wednesday night that “Thanks to corporate lawyers, the character of Stephen Colbert, host of The Colbert Report, will never be seen again.”

The announcement was upsetting for everyone, including Stephen, but the Late Show host had a solution. Colbert welcomed “Stephen Colbert,” the identical twin cousin of the former host of The Colbert Report, “Stephen Colbert.” Twin cousin Stephen, dressed in an American flag shirt, explained that he is definitely not the former host of The Colbert Report and said he was excited to become a member of the Late Show team. Only time will tell if the same corporate lawyers ruin everyone’s fun and contact Stephen again to inform him that “twin cousin Stephen” can’t be on The Late Show either.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on CBS.
