Stephan Bonnar is considered by many to be one of the most influential fighters in the sport of mixed martial arts. If it weren't for him and Forrest Griffin and their infamous 15-minute war in 2005, the sport may not have grown to the heights in which it currently stands. He is 8-6 in his UFC career, and 14-7 overall and is known for never having been knocked out of submitted in his career.
At UFC 153, he will take on Anderson Silva, who will be the heavy favorite (-1100). What have the odds been for Bonnar in his previous five fights?
November 19, 2011: +155 vs. Kyle Kingsbury -195
Bonnar came into this fight as the underdog against the younger Kingsbury. Not many people gave Bonnar a chance to win, but in typical "American Psycho" fashion, he pulled it out.
December 4, 2010: -250 vs. Igor Pokrajac +190
Looking to stay in the win column, Bonnar defeated Pokrajac, which is what the odds were calling for. The fight was an entertaining one, but Bonnar got the unanimous decision win to improve his career mark to 13-7.
July 3, 2010: +200 vs. Krzysztof Soszynski -260
Just five months after Bonnar lost his third straight fight, he rematched with Soszynski, and the outcome turned out to be quite different. The odds were in favor of Soszynski more the second time around, but Bonnar picked up the TKO win in the second round.
February 21, 2010: +100 vs. Krzysztof Soszynski -130
Currently riding a two-fight losing streak, Bonnar took another The Ultimate Fighter alumnus. It was a great back-and-forth fight, but an inadvertent head butt resulted in a nasty cut that stopped the action, putting another loss on the record of Bonnar.
July 11, 2009: -370 vs. Mark Coleman +300
Bonnar was a heavy favorite to take down the legend, but Coleman "hammered" out Bonnar, earning the unanimous decision victory.
