Steph Curry Responds to James Harden Saying He Should Have Won the NBA MVP Award Last Season

Curry had a very polite response for Harden.

During a recent interview that he did with NBA.com, James Harden revealed that he thinks he is the best player in the NBA right now. Furthermore, he thinks that he should have won the NBA MVP award last season, not Steph Curry. And while it’s hard to criticize Harden for feeling confident about himself, it’s also hard not to wonder what Curry thinks about Harden’s claim.

Yesterday, reporters asked Curry to respond to what Harden told NBA.com. He went about responding to it in a very nice way, but Curry also let it be known that, regardless of what Harden thinks, Curry was the real MVP during the 2014-15 NBA season.

“It doesn’t change what happened last year,” Curry said. “I don’t know. Different guys find different ways of motivating themselves. I’ve never been one to just…I’m obviously confident in what I do, and I know he’s confident in what he does. It might come out in a different way.”

Or in other words: “No matter what you think, I’m still the MVP. Deal with it.”
