Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Heath Miller restructured his contract, reducing his salary-cap figure from $7.96 million to $6.46 million by converting $3 millon of his $5.162 million base salary into a signing bonus.
His base salary is now $1.974 million.
In 2014, his salary-cap figure has gone up to $9.466 million from an original figure of $7.966 million.
That's the final year of a five-year, $35 million contract extension originally signed in 2009 that included $12.5 million in guaranteed money.
The Steelers are currently $1.488 million under the NFL salary-cap limit of $123 million.
