The Steelers confirmed that QB Byron Leftiwch will start in Sunday night’s game against the Ravens for the injured Ben Roethlisberger.
Roethlisberger sprained the sternoclavicular (SC) joint in his right shoulder when he was sacked in the third quarter of Monday night’s win over the Chiefs.
According to Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Roethlisberger also has a rib injury that head coach Mike Tomlin did not mention. Big Ben has thrown 17 touchdown passes and only four interceptions this season.
Leftwich completed 7-of-14 yards for 73 yards on Monday night after replacing Roethlisberger. He last started a game in 2009 for the Buccaneers. Leftwich has 58 career touchdown passes and 41 interceptions.
