Scores were lower Thursday in the second round of the LPGA Lotte Championship, and Angela Stanford took the clubhouse lead by firing the lowest round of the tournament in Kapolei, Hawaii.

An 8-under-par 64 at Ko Olina Golf Club gave Stanford a two-run total of 136 and a one-shot lead over Michelle Wie among players who played early in the day Thursday.

Stanford, a 36-year-old Texan with five career victories, enjoyed two hot streaks during her bogey-free round. She carded five consecutive birdies from Nos. 3-7, then made three more birdies in a row from Nos. 11-13.

Wie shot a 67 on Thursday, leaving her at 137. The 24-year-old Hawaiian finished with five birdies and no bogeys in the second round.

Among the early finishers, American Cristie Kerr and South Korean Hyo Joo Kim were tied for third at 138. Kerr shot a second-round 66, while Kim, one of the first-round leaders, finished at 70 on Thursday.

South Korean Se Ri Pak, another of the first-round co-leaders after a 68 on Wednesday, followed with a 71 on Thursday, leaving her in an early tie for fifth at 139.

The other first-round co-leader, South Korea's So Yeon Ryu, was 1 under par for the day through her first five holes Thursday, leaving her at 5 under for the tournament.

Of the 140 players competing after the first round, the top 70 and ties will make the cut for the last two rounds.
