Stanford G Yankey to miss Saturday's game

Stanford All-American offensive lineman David Yankey will miss Saturday's Pac-12 game against Washington State because of a family matter, Stanford announced Tuesday on Twitter.

The Tweet read: "David Yankey will not play vs. WSU. He is home for a family situation; is in our thoughts and prayers. Josh Garnett will start #gostanford"

Yankey earned All-American honors last season as a left tackle. He was moved to left guard this season to make room for sophomore Andrus Peat at left tackle.

Sophomore Josh Garnett will take Yankey's place as the starting guard against the Cougars.

The No. 5-ranked Cardinal (3-0) relies on its offensive line for its punishing ground game. Washington State (3-1) ranks 10th nationally in total defense.
