HACKENSACK, N.J. (AP) -- Desi Washington scored 21 points, including a game-changing 3-pointer, Saturday night and St. Peter's won its first game of the season 67-63 over Fairleigh Dickinson.

The lead changed hands nine times, but Washington's 3-pointer with 4:25 to play put St. Peter's up 53-50 and he sank four free throws down the stretch to help hold off the surging Knights (2-4).

Washington scored three 3-pointers but the Peacocks (1-3) were outshot by Fairleigh Dickinson 37.3 percent to 34.8 percent from the field. Marvin Dominique scored 11 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.

Sidney Sanders scored 19 for the Knights, including 12 in the final minutes that kept them in the hunt.

Saint Peter's led 33-29 at the half, but Mathias Selund's 3-pointer sparked a 10-point second-half run and Fairleigh Dickinson seemed set to run away with it until Washington tied the game with a 3-pointer of his own.
