WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. (AP) -- Trevis Wyche scored just seven points, but they all came from the free throw line on 7-of-8 shooting in the final 1:16 as Saint Peter's held off Monmouth in its final road game of the season, 61-51.
The home team had won the previous eight games between the rivals, a streak that dates back to the 2003-04 season. St. Peter's (11-16, 7-11) swept the home-and-home series with the Hawks in their first season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
Josh James was 6 of 12 from the field and 6 of 10 from the line to lead Monmouth (10-19, 4-14) with 18 points.
The Peacocks close out their regular season with home games against Fairfield and Niagara.
