LONDON (AP) -- Anni Espar Llaquet scored four goals to lift Spain past Hungary 10-9 and into the women's water polo final at the London Olympics.
The Spanish never trailed against Hungary, jumping out to a 4-1 lead early in the second quarter behind two goals from Espar Llaquet to reach the gold medal game in their first Olympic appearance in the women's sport.
Spain advances to Thursday's final against the United States, which beat Australia 11-9 earlier Tuesday.
Hungary will take on Australia in the third-place game, which will be a rematch of the bronze medal match four years ago in Beijing that Australia won in a penalty shootout.
