Senior guard Nate Wolters led South Dakota State to a 73-67 victory over North Dakota State in the championship game of the Summit League tournament on Tuesday at Sioux Falls (S.D.) Arena, and the Jackrabbits secured an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Wolters had 27 points, six rebounds, six assists and four steals for top-seeded South Dakota State (25-9), which is going to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history. Jordan Dykstra added 18 points for the Jackrabbits, and Tony Fiegen had 12. Junior guard Taylor Braun scored 23 points for third-seeded North Dakota State (24-9). No other Bison player scored more than nine. South Dakota State mounted a 10-0 run to take a 13-7 lead with 12:13 remaining in the opening half. North Dakota State cut the lead to two, but the Jackrabbits held a 29-25 advantage at the break. The Jackrabbits stretched the lead to 36-25 when Brayden Carlson made a 3-pointer with 16:36 to play. The Bison pulled within two again when Mike Felt made a 3-pointer to make it 54-52 with 7:25 to go, but Wolters and Dykstra made big 3-point baskets to help South Dakota State hold on for the victory.
