ORLANDO, Fla. -- South Carolina quarterback Connor Shaw left Saturday's game against Central Florida on Saturday with a sprained shoulder after the Gamecocks' first possession and will not return.
Shaw was scrambling when UCF linebacker Terrance Plummer yanked him down from behind and stripped the ball. The fumble was recovered by Knights defensive back Brandon Alexander.
Plummer rammed Shaw's shoulder into the turf at the end of the play and the USC quarterback immediately headed to the locker room. He was replaced by junior Dylan Thompson, who has appeared in two of the Gamecocks' three games this season.
