LSU junior guard Tim Quarterman declared for the 2016 NBA draft Monday and hire an agent.
"I'm honored to announce that I will enter the 2016 NBA draft," Quarterman said. "I have hired Aaron Turner of Verus Management Team as my professional representation. I would like to sincerely thank my coaches, teammates and fans at LSU for a memorable and rewarding three years. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities ahead."
By hiring professional representation, Quarterman, a 6-foot-6 point guard, eliminated the option to return to LSU before the May 25 deadline.
Quarterman, 21, could garner interest in the first round of the draft and is ranked as the No. 7 junior by The Vertical draft insider Jonathan Givony. He averaged 11.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 33 games this season.
LSU had a disappointing 19-14 season and has lost Ben Simmons and Quarterman to the draft.
