Free-agent center Al Jefferson has agreed in principle to a three-year, $30 million contract with the Indiana Pacers, league sources told The Vertical.

It is immediately unclear if the third year in the deal includes a full guarantee on salary, sources said.

The Jefferson deal continues an offseason reshaping of the Pacers’ roster that includes trades for point guard Jeff Teague, forward Thaddeus Young and now the signing of a starting center in Jefferson.

Jefferson, 31, had some of his most productive seasons under coach Steve Clifford in Charlotte despite knee injuries that curtailed his durability. Jefferson has averaged 16.7 points and 8.9 rebounds across his 12-year NBA career, which has included stops in Boston, Minnesota, Utah and the past three years in Charlotte.
