Source: Texans still thinking about Khalil Mack at No. 1 overall pick

The safe choice would be for the Houston Texans to take Jadeveon Clowney with the first overall pick.

But will that happen? Could they shock the NFL, just like they did in 2006, when they went with Mario Williams over Reggie Bush? It's certainly possible. According to a league source, Houston is thinking hard about, and perhaps leaning toward, taking Buffalo outside linebacker Khalil Mack with the No. 1 overall pick.

Nothing's set in stone, and there's still plenty of time go one way or the other. Similarly to last year's draft, it appears the top overall pick is coming down to two choices though, and the Texans will have to decide between the top two propsects coming out of college.

The Texans have been able to keep their pick under wraps, with owner Bob McNair and general manager Rick Smith dropping comments that have left a trail that could wind up in any direction whatsoever.

With the first round of the draft about 11 hours away, Mack has a real chance of being the top overall pick.

Stay tuned.
