Source: LeGarrette Blount to visit Steelers

New England Patriots veteran free agent running back LeGarrette Blount is scheduled to visit the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night, according to league sources.

The Patriots have maintained interest in Blount throughout the free agent process, and there are other NFL teams interested in addition to the Steelers and Patriots, according to sources. No deal is imminent at this time for Blount.

The Steelers had in Maurice Jones-Drew for a free-agent visit this week, but didn't immediately reach a deal

The 6-foot, 250-pound Blount has a powerful running style.

Blount, 27, rushed for 772 yards and seven touchdowns last season for New England.

That included 189 yards and two touchdowns on 24 carries in the regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills.

In a playoff victory over the Indianapolis Colts, Blount rushed for 166 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries.

The former Oregon standout has rushed for 2,711 yards and 20 touchdowns and has averaged 4.7 yards per carry for his career in four NFL seasons.

He has also played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans.

As a rookie, he rushed for 1,007 yards and six touchdowns for the Titans.
