More bad news came out of Baylor on Thursday. Brian Nance, a projected starter for the Bears at defensive end, confirmed that he is transferring out of the program. His transfer reportedly stems from an academic issue.

On top of that, Baylor Rivals affiliate SicEmSports reported that Brandon Bowen, a 2016 signee, has requested his release from the program. Bowen is a four-star prospect who was rated by Rivals as the 63rd-best player in the country.

This is good news for any fan of college football. BYU quarterback Taysom Hill is healthy and ready to compete for the starting role with Tanner Mangum. Hill missed most of the past two seasons with injuries after putting up huge numbers – 2,938 passing yards, 1,344 rushing yards and 29 combined touchdowns – in 2013.

New Cougars head coach Kalani Sitake has a particular goal in mind for Hill: learn to avoid harm’s way.

Texas A&M landed a commitment from a three-star offensive lineman named Creed Humphrey, so we had to bring out our best Creed (the band) GIF. You’re welcome, world.

This is awesome. Clemson wideout Mike Williams posted a video of his teammates celebrating as Coastal Carolina won the College World Series with a dramatic win over Arizona. Clemson definitely has South Carolina pride.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh got a shoutout from rapper Drake when he hosted Saturday Night Live, so Harbaugh had to show love back. And when people thought Harbaugh wasn’t familiar with the Drake catalogue, he dropped his top five Drake tracks.

And finally, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson received a nice honor from the ACC. The junior was named the conference’s male athlete of the year.
