NACODOCHES, Texas (AP) -- Taylor Smith scored 18 points and Antonio Bostic added 15 points to allow Stephen F. Austin to remain unbeaten with a 56-51 victory over San Diego on Saturday night.
The game was nip-and-tuck through much of the first half. A layup by Smith with 2:52 left in the half put Stephen F. Austin (5-0) ahead to stay. San Diego (3-5) was within 48-46 with 3:21 left in the game, but could not overtake Stephen F. Austin.
Chris Anderson had a balanced effort for San Diego with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Ken Rancifer scored 11 points, including a pair of 3-pointers.
