World Cup 2014 coverage:

'Skins nab RG3 some additional protection

National Football Post

When Robert Griffin III is ready to return to the Redskins starting lineup, he’ll notice a new offensive lineman charged with trying to keep him healthy.

Pending a physical, the Redskins have reached an agreement with free agent offensive tackle Jeremy Trueblood, per our friend Jenna Laine.

Terms of the deal were not immediately made available.

A seven-year veteran out of Boston College, Trueblood will be reunited with general manager Bruce Allen in Washington, who held the same position in Tampa Bay when selecting the offensive tackle in the second round of the 2006 NFL draft.

The 29-year-old’s first four seasons with the Buccaneers resulted in 61 starts, but injuries limited Trueblood to just nine appearances in 2012.
