“Retweets are not endorsements.” This is an often-used phrase by journalists that could (and probably should) be used by famous people to protect their brands or the brands they represent.

Simone Biles lacks that particular statement in her mini biography on Twitter, but with her current success and the fan love that comes with it, a retweet wouldn’t hurt her brand much.

Especially when she retweets adorable 6-year-olds.

Nyla, a gymnast at the ripe age of 6, was featured in a tweet by her father, Prince Miller, which was sent to Biles and Gabby Douglas. Biles put that green wannabe-recycle icon to work because who the heck doesn’t love inspiring little kids?

The post went viral, mostly because of Biles’ 635,500-plus followers. More than 13,500 retweets later Nyla sent another message to her hero who won three-straight world championships and four gold medals in Rio.

While Biles’ individual successes are astronomical, her impact on young girls may be greater. People credit Mary Lou Retton for the gymnastics boom in the United States after her gold in the individual all-around competition, so Biles’ “Greatest of all time” label may inspire other little girls on the same level.

Like Gabby Douglas before her, Biles offers a role model for young African-American to show that dreams really do come true with hard work and dedication. You can even be the greatest to ever compete in your sport.

Not a bad endorsement.
