If you were expecting last night's Olympics-themed episode of "The Simpsons" to be anything less than hilarious, I've got sour news for ya, Jack – it was great. The basic story is that Homer and Marge stumble across mixed-doubles curling, and make their way to Vancouver to compete.
The best part of the episode was the Opening Ceremony, hosted by Bob Costas. Call me crazy, but if this had been real I think it would have been the most amazing Opening Ceremony of all time.
I'd have liked something involving "The Littlest Hobo," but it's still really funny. I'd pay good money to see a "Ghostbusters"-themed Opening Ceremony.
After the jump, Homer and Marge learn about curling.
That's the most succinct, humorous, and romantic depiction of curling ever. Curling is for lovers, you guys.
Mixed-doubles curling isn't yet an Olympic sport, but after this episode, let's hope the IOC sees its potential and adds it for the 2014 Games in Sochi.
The entire episode is currently available on Hulu, and it's well worth your time.
