Sidney Lowe arrested for tax evasion

Former North Carolina State head coach Sidney Lowe was arrested Monday and charged with failing to file state tax returns in 2009, 2010 and 2011, WRAL in Raleigh, N.C., reported.

Lowe is currently an assistant coach with the Utah Jazz after being the Wolfpack's head coach from 2006 to 2011.

Lowe, 53, faces three misdemeanor counts of willful failure to file a North Caroline Individual Income Tax Return and was placed under a $10,000 unsecured bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 19.

Lowe was a starting guard on North Carolina State's 1983 national championship team.
