Shaun Marcum: DL Stint Likely

Rotowire.com
Update: Marcum (neck) appears likely to open the season on the DL, ESPN New York's Adam Rubin reports.

Recommendation: Mets manager Terry Collins made a point to bring up the fact that Marcum hasn't pitched in a game in two weeks, so he's simply unlikely to be stretched out enough in time for be ready duty next week. Aaron Laffey is expected to begin the year in the Mets' rotation as the fifth starter as a result of Marcum's likely absence.
