Sharks' Hertl out at least a month
San Jose Sharks forward Tomas Hertl will miss at least a month because of a left knee injury suffered in Thursday's loss to the Los Angeles Kings, CSNBayArea.com reported Friday.
Hertl had an MRI exam on Friday, and he could be sidelined for more than a month if the results reveal significant damage.
Hertl leads NHL rookies with 15 goals and 25 points in 35 games.
He was injured when he took a knee-on-knee hit from the Kings' Dustin Brown in the first period.
Brown was given a five-minute kneeing penalty and a game misconduct.
The Sharks recalled rookie Matt Nieto from ECHL San Francisco.
