Shanahan to discipline on three Saturday night incidents

Brendan Shanahan, who is in charge of discipline for the NHL, reportedly has scheduled three hearings this week over issues that occurred during Saturday's play.

New York Rangers winger Carl Hagelin was ejected for an elbow that injured Ottawa Senators' Daniel Alfredsson, who was knocked out of Game 2 of the first-round playoff series Saturday. Shanahan will talk to Hagelin on Sunday about possible supplemental discipline, USA Today Sports reported.

Also, Shanahan will talk to Ottawa's Matt Carkner for instigating a fight with New York's Brandon Dubinsky in the same game and Chicago's Andrew Shaw, who was ejected for hitting Phoenix goalie Mike Smith behind his net during that series' Game 2 on Saturday.
